Three Day Weekend House Tour to Benefit the American Cancer Society

Karen Ladish of House Dressings Inc., and Rick Ellison and Cathie Bordner of Reece & Nichols Realtors will sponsor a three day weekend house tour of a property in Stratford Gardens to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The tour will be available to the public for an $8.00 door admission fee. All door proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Each admission will give the patron an opportunity to enter into a drawing, for the chance to win several prizes, one including a new flat screen TV/DVD combo. The drawing will be held the day after the event and winners will be notified. There will also be some local merchants selling some unique items, with a portion of their sales also being donated to the American Cancer Society.
The event will stage a house from the 1950’s that has been completely reinvented to “2004 Old World Charm” much like the makeovers so popular on many of the home and garden TV programs today. The theme will be “Father Knows Best Meets 2004”. The house has many improvements including total hardwood floor refinishing. The kitchen has a new tile floor and a Tuscan country look. There are many examples of Faux painting technique. The property will be completely refurnished by House Dressings Inc. to give the total appearance of an actual lived in home.
The event will be held at the home owned by (now deceased) Myron K Ellison and his surviving wife Dorothy E Ellison, at 1233 W. 63rd Street, KCMO 64113.
