Hello,
What a difference a month makes. As we look outside the crocus and
daffodils are blooming in the garden. After a long Winter spent inside -
Spring is finally here. And there is no better time to think about the
garden!
With that in mind our first article "Antiques In The Garden"
provides you with a few ideas on finding the perfect piece for your
piece of paradise.
Girl Scout cookies anyone? Did you know that some troops are selling
Thin Mints on eBay? It's true. And good for you if your local scout
forgot to knock on your door this year.
And finally, don't forget to check out "Goings On" for
information on our E*bay Furniture Sale starting March 23, the Garden
Antiques Sale April 1 -4 and our participation in the KCPT Public
Television Auction April 16 - 24.
Until next month - all the best,
Jason and Stacey Roske

Antiques In The Garden
Walking through a pair of wrought iron gates into an antiques filled
garden is like passing through time into an era of romance and leisure.
Iced tea, parasols and an ease of life were the norm and are what we
yearn for today.
You can help make this a reality for yourself by using antique
furniture, statuary, urns or flower pots to give your garden, and your
life, the serenity you deserve.
The oldest and sometimes most interesting garden antiques can be found
in Europe. Thanks to the World Wide Web, access to these treasures is
available to all. Now anyone can purchase vintage garden decorations
including architectural structures, ornate benches, statuary, urns, and
pots with the click of a mouse.
Acquiring a 200-year-old statue off the internet may seem far fetched
to some. Thankfully those of us in that category (myself included) can
still turn our gardens into enchanting places brimming with history.
Estate Sales, Antique Shops, Outdoor Antique Shows and Architectural
Salvage stores can be great sources for vintage and antique garden
statuary and furniture.
Don't be afraid to experiment and keep your eyes open no matter the time
of year. A bird bath at an estate sale in the middle of January will be
significantly less than that same bird bath in the April.
Most importantly take time to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and
enjoy the tranquility that comes from working in the garden.

Mints Anyone? |

Have a hankering for Thin Mints and no Girl Scouts in sight?
Go to Ebay and type Thin Mints or Girl Scout Cookies and you can
choose from auctions of 3 boxes to an entire case of 12. I even
saw one auction in which the seller was willing to mix and match
a case. Yum Yum!
